We make legendary instruments, with measured proof.

Analog Realism is a small software studio building digital products the way a Swiss watchmaker builds precise movement. No overhype, no subscriptions. Just hardware-accurate audio software that you can keep and love for years.

01 / Story

The difference between modeling a curve and modeling a circuit.

Most analog modeling plugins use "black box" modeling: measure what hardware does, build a filter that copies the curve. The curve is right; the behaviour underneath is wrong. The EQ doesn't know the compressor exists. The transformer doesn't remember the bass note from a moment ago. The circuit isn't a circuit - it's a chain of approximations pretending to be one.

Analog Realism began with a different premise. Model the components themselves - every transistor, tube, transformer core, capacitor and inductor - wired in the real circuit topology. Let the sound emerge from the physics, not from a hand-tuned curve. When the compressor works hard, current draw rises and the shared power rail sags, shifting the operating point of every other stage. The transformer remembers its recent magnetization history. The inductors saturate differently. Twelve mechanisms acting as one circuit - exactly the way real hardware does.

This is TrueRail. It is not a marketing word. It is twelve interacting mechanisms running on a shared circuit substrate, all verified by automated measurement, all always active.

Our catalogue is deliberately small. We would rather build one product that lasts thirty years than ten products that need patching every quarter. The plugin runs no analytics and never phones home — activation is a one-time exchange, after which Sphinx never needs the internet again. If we close tomorrow, your tools still work tomorrow.

02 / Principles

Five commitments. Practised, not printed.

01 - physics

Component, not curve

We model what the hardware IS, not what it does. The physics is the algorithm - every transistor, tube, transformer core, and capacitor simulated as itself.

02 - proof

Verified, not asserted

Every release passes 2,043 automated measurements across nine independent test suites. Zero failures, zero warnings. The raw data ships with the plugin and is public on this site.

03 - privacy

Private by design

The plugin never calls home. One web activation per machine and that's it - fully offline forever. The only data we hold is your email, name, serial, and machine ID — nothing more, nothing shared.

04 - durability

Permanence over patches

One-time purchase, yours forever. No subscriptions, no cloud locks, no recurring fees. If we close tomorrow, your tools still work tomorrow.

05 - restraint

Small on purpose

One product released only when it earns release. Made in Finland with patience. We would rather build one thing that lasts thirty years than ten that need patching every quarter.
